As part of the thorough onboarding process, every sitter joining the Octopus Moon Register completes OM Identity which is our own identity verification check. This means photographing a government-issued ID document (such as a passport or driving licence) and completing a short liveness check to confirm they are who they say they are.
This is carried out by our verification partner under a GDPR-compliant data processing agreement, so your sitter's documents are never stored on our own systems.
I also review their online presence, including Facebook, Google and website. Every sitter is also invited to an online meeting where I can personally connect with them, adding a further layer of reassurance about their trustworthiness before they set foot in your home.
Some sitters may also hold a DBS check which complements their OM Identity verification.
